Hi all,
The Greater Palouse Meat Producers has had an incredibly busy year and yet we're only into the first month of spring. The good news is that all of our hard work is helping us to make progress rapidly. We're writing this update so that we can share with you what we've accomplished in the last few months.
In March, our application for a Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG) was received by the USDA. This grant was supported by $5,000 in matching funds provided by local supporters. The total amount of funding for this will be $20,000.
We are very optimistic that the grant will be awarded. The Clearwater Economic Development Association (CEDA) wrote the grant and has an excellent track record of having grants awarded. Based upon the RBEG grant timeline, we should receive notification in June letting us know if we have received the grant. We look forward to having a lot more to share with you this summer. If all goes according to plan, we anticipate having a "kick-off" meeting in October.
